Product Details

Our luxuriously soft beach towels are made from brushed microfiber with a 100% cotton back for extra absorption.   The top of the towel has the image printed on it, and the back is white cotton.   Our beach towels are available in two different sizes: beach towel (32" x 64") and beach sheet (37" x 74").

Don't let the fancy name confuse you... a beach sheet is just a large beach towel.

Artist's Description

When returning to my campsite one morning after shooting the sunrise and then driving around the 36-mile loop road in the South Unit of Theodore Roosevelt National Park, I encountered a small herd of bison milling on both sides of the narrow road, with a few crossing back and forth. I always drive with my point & shoot camera - in this instance, a Nikon AW110 - hung around my neck for just such opportunities when managing more professional gear is not practical.
After sitting still for close to thirty minutes, when an opening appeared ahead, I inched forward in my luxury camper, a BMW 325Ci, with the passenger side window rolled down, as there was this huge bison on my right side just off the pavement. You see, I carry my Coleman 9x7 tent, air mattress, sleeping bag, and other accessories in my car. As I came even with this animal, which then had its head down grazing, I began shooting.

Don Mercer

Don Mercer is an author and freelance fine art photographer. Research for one book took him to the middle of Cambodia in 1999, as he was the first from among his wartime unit to return to that country. During the War in Southeast Asia - known to most as the Vietnam War, he flew over two hundred combat missions as an Air Force pilot in the Cessna O-2A. His combat assignment was as a Forward Air Controller, or FAC. The majority of his combat missions were flown in Cambodia at night. While in Southeast Asia in 1970-71, his interest in photography intensified with the purchase of his first two of numerous Nikon cameras.
