Description
Summer in Yellowstone National Park is quite beautiful. The colors of cauldrons, or boiling pots, may be viewed clearly. This one in the West Thumb Geyser Basin, with its aquamarine hues, was exceptional against the trees and clear blue sky. This is the largest geyser basin on the shores of Yellowstone Lake. West Thumb is actually a caldera within a caldera. (Source: National Park Service)
