Artist's Description
When on a family ski trip in March to Teton Village, Wyoming, I took three days to ski and three days to photograph in Grand Teton National Park, my favorite of all fifty-nine of our National Parks. One late afternoon, I was returning from the Gros Ventre Valley and was about to turn toward the small town of Kelly, when I saw some small black dots on the horizon to the north, up the road onto which I was going to turn south. As I sat there for a few moments, the dots grew larger; and I knew it was bison headed my way. I shot was bursts of images using my 300mm lens until I thought it prudent to retreat to my car.

Black and white, as well as color, 35mm, and Super 8 movie films were used at the time. The transition to digital...
