Description
The moonrise at Nubble Light on a late September evening was gorgeous. What has come to be called Nubble Light is actually Cape Neddick Lighthouse, an iconic symbol of both the Maine seacoast, as well as lighthouses in general. However, this "nub" of land, the small island on which the lighthouse sits, morphed at some point into "nubble," which led to the name of Nubble Island. Thus, the Cape Neddick Lighthouse (formerly Lightstation) transitioned into its being called Nubble Light for the island on which it is located. This lighthouse is at York, Maine.
