Description
The battleship, USS Wisconsin, was launched on December 7, 1943, and is currently docked beside the Nauticus, The National Maritime Museum, in Norfolk, Virginia. The Wisconsin saw action in World War II and during the Korean War, after which it was decommissioned. However, in 1986, she was reactivated and saw action once again in the Gulf War during January and February 1991. This Iowa-class battleship has some of the following specifications: Displacement - 52,000 tons; Length - 887.2 feet; Beam - 108.2 feet; Draft - 28.9 feet; Speed - 30 knots (approximately 35 mph); and Complement - 1,921 officers and men.
